Overview

The Start Secondary School event is a Recurring Cost event, which means the budgeted amount will be added as an expense (which increases at inflation) in from the year that the event has been added to for a set duration of 6 years to cover the costs of raising a child during the Secondary School years (i.e. Year 7 - 12)

Secondary school expenses can be substantially more variable / higher than primary school due to increased educational needs, technology requirements, and extracurricular commitments.

What to factor in:

  • School fees (especially for independent or religious schools)

  • Laptops, tablets, and other technology

  • Tutoring and exam preparation

  • Sports, music, and other extracurricular activities

  • Transport costs (e.g., public transport passes, school bus fees)

πŸ’‘ Costs can vary widely depending on the type of school chosen - public schools tend to have lower costs, while private and independent schools can be significantly more expensive.
