Overview
Canwi uses an authentication provider called Auth0, one of the leading identity providers. Through Auth0 we provide options to authenticate with:
Email / Password
Email / Passkey
Google authentication
Auth0's sign-up flow tends to steer new users towards creating a Passkey as they are considered to be a more secure authentication mechanism than passwords and they, like other authentication providers are trying to steer towards a passwordless future.
If you’ve set up a Passkey using a device-specific storage (such as Windows Hello or Apple’s Passwords) and find you can’t log in from another ecosystem (e.g. set up on iPhone and stored a Passkey in 'Passwords' and then trying to log in on Windows), you can set a fallback password on your account using the instructions below.
💡 Tip: If you regularly switch between devices and ecosystems, password managers like 1Password, Bitwarden, or Dashlane can store and sync passkeys across all your devices, making login smoother and avoiding lock-in to a single platform.
